QGIS training
Your team should be able to use GIS on its own, without licence costs. QGIS training tailored to your data and tasks.
QGIS is a full-featured geographic information system and costs no licence fees. That is a big advantage, especially for small offices, municipalities and associations. To make getting started or switching over a success, I train your team with your own data and on the tasks you actually deal with.
What you get
Beginner courses
The basics of GIS and QGIS: loading, editing and displaying data and producing maps.
Advanced courses
For advanced users: spatial analysis, geostatistics, network analysis or cartography.
Workshops
Working together on your own data and questions, with solutions you can keep using afterwards.
Support afterwards
If questions come up in your daily work, I can help, whether they are technical or GIS-specific.
Topics
I put the content together to suit your needs, for example:
- Introduction to GIS and QGIS
- Field mapping with QField
- Open-source GIS and open government data (OGD)
- Digitising and data preparation
- Cartography and layouts
- Spatial analysis methods
- Network analysis
- Geostatistics
- Mobile data collection with QField
Why open source
- No licence costs: QGIS is freely available, on as many computers as you like.
- Competitive: in day-to-day work, QGIS can keep up with commercial GIS software.
- Independent: open formats and standards, so your data stays in your hands.
- Extensible: a large selection of plugins, and anything missing can be added.
How a project works
- Enquiry: You describe who is to be trained, with what prior knowledge and for which tasks.
- Coordination: We define the content, scope and format, on site at your premises or online. You then receive a quote.
- Preparation: I prepare exercises, using your own data where possible.
- Training: We work hands-on at the computer, with materials to refer back to.
- Afterwards: If questions come up in your daily work, I am still there for you.
